Privacy Policy

Burial Protection Plan is an insurance matching service. We run advertising for final expense insurance, and we route the calls and requests we receive to third-party licensed insurance agents and agencies, who compensate us for those referrals. This Privacy Policy describes what personal information we collect, how we use it, and — importantly — who we share it with and how you can opt out.

Please read this first: because our business is routing calls and leads to insurance partners for compensation, we do share and sell your personal information as those terms are defined under California and similar state privacy laws. We do not claim otherwise anywhere on this site. Your rights and how to exercise them are set out below.

Collection of Personal Information

We may collect personal information from you when you use our website, call a telephone number displayed on it, fill out a form, or otherwise contact us. The personal information we collect may include:

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 years of age. We do not ask for, and you should not provide, Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, or payment card details through this website.

Use of Personal Information

We use the personal information we collect to:

How We Share Your Information — and How We Are Paid

When you call or email us, or submit a request on this site, your information may be shared with third-party licensed insurance agents and agencies so they can assist you, and we are compensated for those referrals. That compensation may affect which companies are shown and the order in which they appear. We are not an insurance company or agency, we do not employ insurance agents, and we do not control what a partner does with your information after it is transferred — their own privacy policies then apply.

We also disclose personal information to service providers that operate this website and our advertising on our behalf, and we may disclose personal information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect our rights.

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, and comparable laws in other states, our routing of your information to insurance partners for compensation constitutes a “sale” and/or “sharing” of personal information. We disclose the categories of identifiers, internet activity, and information you volunteer described above for these purposes. We do not sell or share the personal information of consumers we know to be under 16 years of age.

Third-Party Advertising, Analytics, and Call-Tracking Vendors

We use the following third-party services on this website. Each collects information directly and processes it under its own privacy policy:

Telephone, Text Message, and Recording Consent

By providing your telephone number on this website or by calling a number shown on it, you agree that Burial Protection Plan and the third-party licensed insurance partners we work with may contact you at that number, including by automated dialing technology, prerecorded messages, and text message, regardless of your do-not-call list status. This consent is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Calls may be monitored or recorded for quality and compliance purposes where permitted by applicable law. You may withdraw consent at any time by telling the representative, by replying “STOP” to any text message, or by using the contact details below.

Your Privacy Rights and How to Opt Out

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we have collected about you, to request a copy of it, to request correction or deletion of it, to opt out of the sale or sharing of it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

To opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, or to make any other privacy request, call (833) 353-0855 or email privacy@burialprotectionplan.org with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.” We will verify your request and respond within 45 days, as required by applicable law. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.

Opting out of the sale or sharing of your information stops future routing of your information to our partners. It does not require a partner you have already been connected with to delete information it holds; contact that partner directly for its own privacy policy and requests. You may also register your number with the National Do Not Call Registry at donotcall.gov.

Retention of Personal Information

We retain personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described above and to meet our legal, tax, and recordkeeping obligations, after which it is deleted or de-identified.

Security of Personal Information

We take reasonable measures to protect the personal information we collect from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse. No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We may use cookies and other tracking technologies to collect information about your use of our website, such as your IP address, browser type, and pages you visit. This information is used to improve our website and personalize your experience.

Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these websites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

If you access our website from outside your country, your personal information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in other countries. By using our website, you consent to this transfer.
